Publication Ethics of Integrated Mechanical Engineering Journal (IMEJOUR)

This code of ethics serves as a guideline for all parties involved in the publication process of the IMEJOUR journal, including managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. This code is based on four core principles:

  • Impartiality: The publication process is free from conflicts of interest.
  • Fairness: Authorship rights are assigned fairly according to contribution.
  • Honesty: The work is free from duplication, data fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.

Publisher Responsibilities

  • Publish manuscripts that have undergone proper evaluation, editing, and layout processes in accordance with scientific publication standards.
  • Guarantee the academic independence of editors and peer reviewers in carrying out their duties.
  • Protect authors’ privacy, intellectual property rights, and editorial independence.

Editor Responsibilities

  • Decide on the suitability of manuscripts for publication based on editorial board recommendations, while adhering to legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and ethical violations.
  • Ensure editorial decisions are non-discriminatory with respect to the author’s race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology.
  • Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts under review.
  • Refrain from using rejected manuscripts for personal gain and return them to the authors appropriately.

Peer Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Assist editors in objectively evaluating the scientific merit of manuscripts, supported by clear and rational arguments.
  • Ensure manuscripts are free from plagiarism, duplication, data fabrication, or falsification, and recommend improvements when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript and refrain from misusing any information for personal advantage.

Author Responsibilities

  • Submit original manuscripts representing honest research or scholarly work, avoiding plagiarism, duplication, and data manipulation.
  • Guarantee the authenticity of the work and provide complete citations for all referenced sources.
  • Refrain from double submission (i.e., submitting the same manuscript to another journal while it is under review at IMEJOUR).
  • Accept editorial revisions as long as they do not alter the core substance or main ideas of the manuscript.
  • Take full responsibility for the content of the published manuscript.

Ethical Violations

Any breach of this code of ethics (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, etc.) will be addressed in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applicable laws.

IMEJOUR is committed to upholding academic integrity and transparency throughout all stages of the publication process.
